Abstract
This survey was conducted to find out women¢¥ knowledge and attitude on cancer prevention and various factors influencing them. To achieve such a purpose, 109 women¢¥s clients of OPD (Group I) and 83 women¢¥s clients of a cancer clinic(Group II) in Seoul were questionnaire.
The obtained data were computationally treated and analyzed by percentage, X2-test, Pearson correlation, and stepwise multiple regression. The results were as follows;
1) The degree of knowledge that they exactly know on kinds of cancer, period of its frequent occurrence, and knowledge for its prevention; (Group I : 33.9%, Group II : 25.3%) while above 20% of both group was ignorant about exact attitude on the significance of cancer.
On the degree of accurate attitude about the significance or importance of regular physical examination;
Both group was much higher than the degree of their knowledge and Group I (61.5%) was some higher than Group 11 (51.8%).
2) As for the factors influencing women¢¥s knowledge and attitude on cancer prevention;
In Group I
There are positive correlation between attitude and women¢¥s susceptibilities. (p<0.01) In Group II
They have a very important implication on especially frequency of live birth(8.8%)
For these results, I think that cancer patients prefer to coming in general hospital. Therefore we have to systemically develop, supply and spread the knowledge of preventive health on the aspects quantity and quality, especially institution to expedite attitude and knowledge .of women¢¥s cancer prevention or health education, or use of the nurse can be in charge of this service.
